If a tooth is too weak or damaged for us to repair it with a simple filling, a dental crown is usually needed to restore the tooth so it can function properly again. Dr. Cox uses updated technology that benefits you by delivering the most efficient and comfortable dental experience possible.

Dr. Cox has offered patients the convenience of state-of-the-art CEREC same-day crowns for nearly 10 years. Technology, like CEREC makes it possible for us to help you to get in, get your treatment, then get on with your busy life.

The process for creating CEREC crowns is really kind of fascinating. First, the tooth is shaped to prepare it and make sure your new crown fits perfectly. We then take images of the tooth, which are input into a computer program. Using these images, we can view a model of your tooth and construct your new crown.

While you wait, your new CEREC crown will be fabricated out of porcelain, a durable, stain-resistant material. We want your new crown to blend perfectly with your smile, so we’ll work with you to make sure that the shade of your new crown closely matches your surrounding natural teeth. The final step is to adjust the crown so that it fits your bite perfectly, polish the crown, and bond it securely to your tooth.
